Dedications
Originally, I was planning on having a dedication post but the more I thought about it the more I realized that without the loving supportive people in my life, I would not have gotten as far as I have. These people have my gratitude and thanks and this deserves to be a permanent place on this site.
Firstly, all of my family and friends who offered support, encouragement, and advice. Without these folks, I would just be some nerd running around and most likely hurting myself.
Secondly, my two beautiful children. Hearing their voices yelling “GO DAD” as I’m running by the house offers more motivation than they will ever know. Showing them what their dad can do and what is possible with hard work is one of my main driving reasons for doing this.
Lastly, but never last, my loving wife. Without her, this would not be possible. Period. Every step of the way she has been 110% supportive of my decisions. When I gave up sugar, she would change the foods in the house to accommodate my dietary needs. When I said I was going to ride my bike to work, she didn’t complain (much) about me spending $1000 on a bike. When I said I was going to train for a 1/2 marathon she said she believed in me. Nothing I do would be possible without her.
It’s not lost on me that each time I got out for a 2 hour run, she’s the one home making sure the children are taken care of. Nor is it lost on me that she’s worried out of her mind each time I take my bike to work and go running when it’s icy outside. Her eyes say it all even though her words say "I'm proud of you".
She is more than I deserve.
